Another week goes by......

Ok so a decently busy week for the munchkin and I. As you can see from the previous blog she went to my parents cottage this past weekend. The idea was it would be the last time she'd be able to go and enjoy it this summer.
On Wednesday afternoon Anna had a prescreening session at her school with some of the teachers and staff, just to confirm she was "ready" for preschool. I guess that is common for children that are in the "high risk" program. I was a little worried about whether Anna would be one of those ready to go our shy and afraid to leave me. Yah I don't think she realized I was even there.. :) The teacher that tested her said she was ready and rearing to good. She said Anna shows great ability and lots of promise. So yeah! Shes not gonna be a brainless fool like her dad! After that we went back home to play in the sand box and run around the house. Anna was supposed to have a friend come over to play but wasn't able to work out. Worst part of it was how crushed Anna was. But what can ya do. :) So we made the best of it and went over to the neighbors and we went for a bike ride to the park. So ended up as a decent night.
Thursday morning we had to get up way too early. 8am. :( we had an in-home visit with her new teacher and assistant teacher. Another common part of her being in the high risk program. She had fun and opened the door right up for them. While the teacher went over mountains of paperwork Anna was showing the assistant teacher around the house and her room. It was cute. So we are all set to start school on Monday September 8th at 930 am.. :'(

My lil princess in her sun dress..Here's Anna chillin with her arm around Axe.

Anna giving Axe a lil belly rub. So Tuesday night for our station training, we went out to OCC's Emergency Training Center to use the Flash over Simulator. For those that don't know what a flash over is, easiest explanation is in a fire where all of the items in the room instantly ignite. So for a firefighter in a room that is about to flash over, that is BAD! Our gear brand new guarantees you will "survive" 10 seconds of a flash over. The term survive is used loosely, due to unsure the severity of injuries. So the simulator is designed to put firefighters in a position to see the moments leading up to a flash over in hopes they will recognize the signs and save their own lives.
Above is the simulator. The upper box is where the fire is set and the lower portion is where the firefighter sit "somewhat" protected.
Pre burn pic of good ole me!!
It's cookin in there now..

Fire in the free burning stage. I'm second to left. BTW for anyone that wonders temperature readings were around 500 degrees at my head level and 300 at my waist. :) So ya just a lil warm there.. :)

Update

So not much to update on here. Just working and spending time with Anna. Oh yah Anna starts pre-school Sept. 8th.. :'( I am so not ready!!!!
Here are a few pics of Anna up at the cottage again this weekend with my parents. They figured it would be the last shot she got to be up there this year.
This is classic Anna. She claimed she couldn't sleep in her bed cause the grasshoppers were attacking her. So she had to sleep in the living room pull out couch.

Weekly Update

Like I said it has been a slow Mike and Anna week but the fires have been a lil busy. Here is a nice "dumpster fire" we had. Kinda a boring fire but decent pics..So back in Christmas of 1986 (yes i'm old you fu(kers!) I got an Ice Cream making kit from Santa. I would have to say we prolly only made ice cream once the whole time I lived there. So this week we decided to make ice cream with Anna. Here is a pic of here hard at work mixing the ice cream. She loved it, not to mention it didn't taste too bad.
So this past was kinda a quiet week on the Anna and Mike front. However the fire department side has been a little busier. Picture below is of a house in Bloomfield Hills that we got called to for a mutual aid fire. Ironically it doesn't look that bad but the inside it a total loss. Which is good cause if the outside and roof would have gotten involved I might still be there.. :)

More Swimming

So Wednesday afternoon Anna and I headed out to Steve and Courtney's house in Macomb Township. As being part of their subdivision they have access to the association pool, Courtney invited Anna and I out for the day. So we headed out to the pool for the day. The pool was very nice and a salt water pool at that. Never swam in a salt water pool before, it was actually a little nicer than your average pool. After a day in the pool we met up with Steve for dinner then Anna came home and crashed.. :) Enjoy the pictures and videos.

Anna took this picture of Courtney if you look in the reflection of Courtney's sunglasses you can see Anna taking the picture

Putt Putt

So this evening Anna and I went to the putt putt course at 13 and Coolidge. This was her first time going putt putt and she was excited. All she had been talking about all day. She did alright. Had decent form and hit it well when she listened. (lol) Overall I think she had a 12 shot average per hole. She did get a 2 on the first hole. Then down hill after that. :) All a good time.
We had some visitors that delayed the hole for a few...

Funniest part was right before i clicked the picture, there was two babies there.

Anna is spending the weekend at my parents cottage, while up there they went and visited some family friends that have a place on Lake Huron. She had a ball swimming and playing on the beach.
